  6. Installing ANW.
  7.  
  8. Running SETUP will create an ANW directory containing ANW.EXE, 
  9. your appointments file NOTES.APT, the help file ANW.HLP, and 
  10. various supplementary files.  A program group will be created, and 
  11. a small configuration file ANW.INI will be placed in your Windows 
  12. directory.  You can subsequently make many changes in ANW's 
  13. behavior by modifying ANW.INI as described in the help file.

  15. If you want to uninstall ANW later, just delete your ANW 
  16. directory, the ANW.INI file in your Windows directory, and the ANW 
  17. program group.

  19. You are licensed to try out the Ample Notice period for a trial 
  20. period of 60 days.  After that, you must register if you want to 
  21. continue to use the software.  The file REGISTER.TXT contains a 
  22. registration form.  If you haven't registered, we'll remind you 
  23. once every two months that this is shareware.

  25. Note: Nothing evil will happen after the 60-day trial period -- 
  26. ANW will continue to function as it did before.  You're just using 
  27. the software without our approval.  Granny's is opposed to 
  28. "cripple-ware" which self-destructs after a trial period.  But we 
  29. do hope you'll register.

  31. Granny's Old-Fashioned Software is a member organization of the 
  32. Association of Shareware Professionals and endorses its high 
  33. standards for Shareware distribution and support.  If you obtained 
  34. Ample Notice from a disk catalog or bulletin board, Granny's does 
  35. not receive a cent from the amount you paid.  We rely on your 
  36. registrations to keep going.

  39. The easiest way to keep up-to-date with ANW revisions is to obtain 
  40. the latest version by FTP from ftp.acs.appstate.edu in directory 
  41. pub/pc/win3/pim.  The name will be something like anw100.zip 
  42. (where 100 is the current version number).  To use new releases, 
  43. download, unzip and run SETUP.  Your old appointments file will be 
  44. retained.  The downloaded version will display "Unregistered" on 
  45. the title bar, but if you're registered, send us email at 
  46. mh@cs.appstate.edu we'll send you a code to put in your ANW.INI 
  47. file to suppress this behavior.  Also, email us if you'd like to 
  48. be alerted when ANW is revised.

  51. Fonts in ANW

  53. ANW uses three TrueType fonts by default: Arial, Arial Bold, and 
  54. Lucida Bright.  If your system doesn't have these fonts and the 
  55. default fonts are objectionable, please add a [FONTS] section to 
  56. the ANW.INI in your Windows directory with lines such as the 
  57. following:

  68. You can obtain the current Ample Notice for Windows disk from 
  69. Granny's Old-Fashioned Software for $5 or a registered package for 
  70. $30. (Shipping for US/Canada/Mexico included; other orders please 
  71. add $3.)  Registration provides the following benefits:

  77. Shareware does not mean 'public domain'.  Distribution is 
  78. permitted only if the package stays intact; all files should be 
  79. passed on in unmodified form.  Commercial distributors may sell 
  80. copies of the package subject to the conditions described in the 
  81. VENDOR.TXT file.  Restrictions to use by an individual are 
  82. described in LICENSE.TXT.  One of these restrictions is that 
  83. unregistered use of Ample Notice past a trial period of 60 days is 
  84. prohibited.

  126. licensing arrangements are available:

  128.   Registration: $30 for the first user, $15/user for the 
  129.   next first four, $10 each additional after that.
